Managing Director, Pension Quality Mark
The NAPF is one of the most influential industry pension bodies and recognised as the leading voice of workplace pensions in the UK. We speak for 1,300 pension schemes that provide pensions for 16 million people and have combined assets of around £900 billion.
We live in challenging and changing economic times.
By the time NAPF celebrates its centenary in 2023 we expect to have made a major contribution to securing the future of pensions in the UK. The Pension Quality Mark is a key part of our strategy to achieve the highest possible standards in defined contribution pension provision.
Currently there are 180 pension schemes enjoying PQM accreditation. There are many more pension schemes in existence in the UK, which means that the challenge and the opportunity for you as Managing Director is to make our accreditation an essential industry standard.
The PQM is supported and owned by the NAPF and because it is the only one of its kind there is tremendous scope for the right individual.
Knowledge of the pensions industry would be helpful, a personal commitment to pensions will be essential, but in essence there are four key requirements that the post-holder will need to fulfil, which are successful innovative business development and product marketing, a track record in strategic commercial development, the ability to give clear leadership and operational direction and, finally, the awareness and insight that is required to operate effectively at board level.
