Gary Smith is Managing Director and Head of Pensions Administration Services at BlackRock.

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2011, Gary was at Towers Watson, where he was a member of the DC management team and led the firm's DC investment business.

Gary is a frequent conference speaker and press commentator.

In 2010, Gary was voted ‘European Pensions Personality of the Year’, recognising him as someone who has truly made their mark in the European pensions space in recent years and, in 2011, he was voted one of the top 5 pension and investment consultants in the PlanSponsor Europe Awards.
