NAPF Local Groups

Local Groups provide a focus for local activities and initiatives, a forum for members' meetings with other professional bodies and development opportunities for newer pensions’ staff.

Who should join?

Local Groups welcome members from all sectors, from industry, local government, the professions and providers of services to pension funds.

Please point and click on the map to select region and access information, latest news and membership details for each specific NAPF Local Group region.

Local Groups Liaison Committee

Foreward by David Barker, LGLC Chair

The Local Groups Liaison Committee (LGLC) is becoming increasingly involved in communicating your views to the NAPF, particularly to the Investment and Benefits Councils. I represent the Local Groups on the Benefits Council and Karen Aveyard, as Vice Chairman of the LGLC, represents Local Groups on the Investment Council.

At the last LGLC meeting, we had an in-depth

discussion on the Government's NPSS plans and Personal Accounts - these major strategic plans for the future of pensions in the UK will have a major impact on all of us, from a career perspective and/or a retirement one. The LGLC meeting had been deliberately timed to enable us to feed in to the following Council meetings, where our input formed a valuable part of the discussion.

Future meetings will continue to focus on this and other lobbying issues that NAPF is closely involved in. Please do raise your views, whether at your Local Group meetings or separately, with your local Committee. To represent our members, we need your views.
