Les worked for HMRC for almost 32 years before taking early retirement at the end of March 2006.
He fills his time:

• chairing/facilitating NAPF trustee training events, 
• as a pensions guide for the NAPF PensionsForce initiative,
• as a volunteer of the charity Tax help for Older People,
• as a trustee of the charity too,
• as treasurer of the Nottingham pre-retirement council,
• as a presenter of talks on tax and retirement for the pre-retirement council.

And in his spare time Les supports Nottingham Forest and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.
