NAPF West London Local Group

Introduction

The West-London Group of the NAPF aims to service those both in and around West London. The purpose of the Group is to provide a forum for learning and discussion on topical issues in pensions as well as opportunities to meet others in the pensions industry.

Meetings

The Group typically has four regular meetings a year in February, April, June and October. In addition there is an Autumn Seminar in November and a Pensions Basics course in June. Regular meetings take place at Dartmouth Hose, 37 Charles Street, London W1J 5ED (nearest tube Green Park). This provides a pleasant and friendly venue for the main talk, which starts at 5.30pm and is followed by drinks from 7pm. Speakers are carefully selected from a range of backgrounds and include well-known industry figures. There is a buffet supper after the June meeting.

The Autumn Seminar is a half-day session with a range of expert speakers, preceded by lunch. It covers a topical theme and is designed to be of interest to all members of the Group. Each June, the Group runs a three day Pensions Basics course, which has proved extremely valuable in introducing newcomers to the complex world of pensions. The course is chaired by a well-known industry figure and speakers are from a number of professional firms and employers in the Group.

The Group takes an active part in the NAPF's Local Group Liaison Committee, which meets regularly at NAPF's head office. This is useful in passing information both to and from the local groups and the main organization.
